How to Organize Your Closet on a Budget

Getting ready to cross "organize closet" off your fall cleaning list? Before you jump into it, learn how a few budget-friendly hacks can help you tidy up that space so you can always find what you're looking for:

Make use of shelves. You can use shelves for many of your closet items, including shirts, pants, shoes, and even an extra set of bed sheets - a great way to keep clothes from wrinkling and getting mixed up.

Hang your bags. It’s easy for large handbags to get crushed in your closet. But hanging your bags on sturdy hooks can prevent them from losing their shape. Plus, you'll always know exactly where to find them!

Buy canvas boxes. Canvas boxes are budget-friendly and can help you stow away those summer clothes during the fall and winter months. The best part? These boxes have cards you can label so you can easy spot what goes where.

Double up your hangers. Hanging all of your favorite tops on organizational hangers not only keeps them wrinkle-free but also creates a space for all those clothes you wear most often. That way, you don't have to go searching every time you want to wear it.

Part of getting your closet organized means having a place for everything. By getting creative with these budget-friendly tools you no longer need to take extra time trying to find that one misplaced item. At Copper Square, we offer luxurious townhomes and duplexes with lots of storage space to let your creativity run free! Our Models, Design Studio & Sales Center are now open. Easy Ways to Warm Up Your Home for Fall

While we’re sad to see summer go, we can’t help but feel excited for fall! Aside from the beautiful foliage outside, we love the idea of turning your home into a cozy space. Between warm colors and lots of layers, here are a few of our favorite ways you can change up the decor in your home this season:

Mixing Pillows. Since you and your family will be spending more time indoors soon, it’s a good idea to change the color of your couch accessories. For example, swap your bright yellow and blue pillows and throws for rich, warm hues instead. Red, brown, and orange tones (like pumpkin) are all great options to put you in the spirit!

Warming up layers. Layering your rugs not only adds extra cushion and warmth below your feet, but it also sets the tone for the fall and winter months. When it comes to creating layers, there aren’t any set rules - just add as you feel looks and feels best.

Updating shades. Sheer curtains are great for warmer months, but once fall rolls around, it’s time to bring out those thicker layers! Adding more insulated shades made from bamboo or other natural materials can warm things up a bit - especially when you choose the right color and pattern.

Switching up bedding. Stow away your throws and quilts and bring out the heavy down comforter in return. This is one way you can save money on your electric bills while staying comfortably warm this winter. However, if you love your quilt too much to toss it aside, you can fold it up and lay it across the foot of the bed just in case you need it!

Lighting. Set the tone for fall by setting up candles throughout your home. By adding candles (especially scented ones) you can create a cozy atmosphere and ease tension after a long, cold day outside.

How to Pack Fast and Move Fast

Last-minute moves are common and often the most stressful, but luckily there are a few things you can do to make it easier. If you have only a few weeks to pack up and head out, here are a few tips to consider:

Start early. As soon as you sign the dotted line for your next home, start making a to-do list. It also helps to pack the items you use less often first, such as fine china, books, and photo albums.

Assign a room for packing. Choose a vacant room or one you rarely use. Label boxes to get yourself organized and keep packing tape, bubble wrap, and other materials on hand in there. Make sure to also keep a trash bag handy in the room, so you don’t have to walk back and forth across the house to throw out what you don’t need.

Be strategic. When you begin packing, mark each box with all the information you need to know to keep organized. Don’t forget to put together a box for “Day One”, which includes towels, toiletries, an extra pair of clothes, and other necessary items to make moving day easier. You can also make things simpler by labeling both sides of your boxes, that way you won’t waste time sorting through boxes to find what you need while packing and unpacking.

Pack lightly. Don’t make your move more stressful by packing too heavily. If your boxes are filled to the brim and weigh over 100 pounds, they can break the moment you lift them. So even if it means you have more boxes to carry, imagine how stressed you'd feel if you had to pack all over again.

Bethel Students Earn High SAT Scores for 2015

We are happy to announce that Bethel High School students have increased their performance on the 2015 SATs. Bethel holds a high reputation for its excellent education and the following test scores exemplify why:

While other US public schools received reading scores of 489, Connecticut schools received a score of 494. And while other US schools earned a score of 475 on the writing portion of the exam, students from Connecticut received a score of 494. Overall, students from Bethel High School and other Connecticut schools exceeded the performance of those from other public schools in the nation.

It is noted that Math will be the primary focus for academic studies next year, as many students across the country continue to score lowest this section of the SATs. However, students in Connecticut and in other regions plan to experiment innovative ways on how to earn even better results.

At Copper Square, we take pride in knowing that our community’s students strive hard to raise the bar for schools across the country. Bethel High School is dedicated to establishing an excellent and accomplished curriculum so that its students can go on to achieve a successful higher education for themselves. How to Make the Perfect Bed

Friday is National Make Your Bed Day! Tidying up your bed in the morning is one of those tedious tasks we all would like to avoid, but believe it or not making your bed look and feel great is easier than you might think. If you’re looking for a few tips on how to spruce it up, consider the following ideas:

Add layers. Layering it up with multiple styles, patterns, and textures is one way to create the perfect bed. First, make sure you have a clean, fitted sheet. Then, add a coverlet or quilt (depending on the season) and fold another quilt at the foot of your bed. When you add multiple layers, not only are you making an eye-catching design, but you’re also assembling a comfortable place to retreat to at the end of the day!

Try custom monogramming. Adding your signature to your sheets is another way to make your bed feel a bit more luxurious. It’s also a great way of stamping your personal touch to your bedroom. Bonus tip: having at least three sets of sheets for each bed in your home will allow you to always have a fresh clean stack when you need to change things up.

Mix and match. Avoid an ordinary bedroom by mixing up patterns and textures. When you combine contrasting patterns and stick to one color palette, you add warmth and character to your space, which will make you never want to leave your bedroom!

Add pillows. No bed is complete without layers upon layers of pillows! Not only are these textiles essential for getting a good night’s sleep, but they also make your bed more visually appealing. So, make your space more plush with sets of euro shams and front-facing pillows. And don’t forget to mix up the room’s colors and textures too!
