Reasons to Buy a New Home Vs. Resale

Previously owned designs can sometimes be charming, but they often come with many repairs and paint jobs. Contrary to popular belief, new homes don’t have to be expensive. In fact, there are many communities that offer affordable homes without all the additional work. Still on the fence between a new home and a fixer upper? Here are three reasons to push for new:

Customize
When you choose a new home instead of a resale, you have the option of customizing your kitchen and oftentimes even the layout. But when you purchase a resale, you have to work with what’s already given to you and gut out previous construction in order to remodel.

Low Maintenance
As we mentioned, new homes can come at affordable prices without additional work. Buying a resale frequently means it’s a fixer upper. But if you prefer a ready-in-ready home, then a new construction will benefit you the most.

Upscale Appliances
With low maintenance repairs also comes the option to choose the most upscale appliances and home fixtures on the market. And again, this means you won’t need to gut out old appliances for new ones. For example, some residential developments allow you to custom-make and pre-design your home before it’s even build.

At Copper Square, we will built you a home with all the personal touches you desire and more. Ready to take a closer peek inside what each of our homes has to offer? Visit our gallery »

4 Signs You Should Buy a Townhome

Dreaming about your future home, but not sure what it looks like? From houses to condos to duplexes, there are many types of homes you can invest in. But when it comes down to the details that are often overlooked, you might realize that a townhome can offer an ideal living situation for you. Here are three reasons to consider a townhome:

You want low maintenance.
One of the key benefits to owning a townhome is the lack of maintenance you need to perform. That’s right! Living in a townhome means you don’t have to fix that burnt patch of grass, rake the leaves, or shovel that heavy snow. Although you can probably plant a row of flowers, you don’t have to worry about fertilizing the lawn or pulling those weeds.

You don’t want to leave the compound.
The other benefit? Your townhome comes with a community, which means you will never have to leave to have a good time. These types of homes offer plenty of amenities, such as an outdoor pool, a coffee shop, a bar, a screening room, and a fitness center.

You prefer an ideal neighborhood.
Most townhomes are located close to all the action - restaurants, bars, shopping centers - you name it. This means when you own a townhome, urban convenience is only a hop, skip, and jump away!

You want security.
One more thing about townhomes is that they offer gated entries. So even if you live on your own, the safety of your home doesn’t need to be of high concern. Plus, unlike those who own a house, you won’t need to pay extra money each month for expensive, private security.

If a townhome sounds like the perfect living solution for you, come check out Copper Square. We offer luxurious townhomes and duplexes, located in the heart of Bethel, CT - a growing community that offers New England charm and urban convenience! Visit our gallery »

Winter Worries to Toss Aside at Copper Square

Snowy weather occurs often in Connecticut. So in an attempt to wash your worries away, Copper Square has put together a plan to make sure you never have to worry about the cleanup process! Get ready for wherever you need to travel and leave the outdoor maintenance to us! Here’s what we mean:

Step 1: Plowing
We know that removing snow from large areas, like parking lots, is a must. So the first step to our snow removal process is plowing. Our maintenance team will respond as soon as you need them with their large snow removal equipment. This will ensure that you can maneuver your vehicles and walk to where you need to be. That is, when the weather has calmed down.

Step 2: Shoveling
Hate the hassle of shoveling your property? Not to worry! Unlike in other neighborhoods, at Copper Square, will take care of this as well. We will keep the snow off your sidewalks for easy access to and from your home and keep less stress on your part. Besides, we understand that shoveling can cause many injuries, and we want to make sure all of our residents stay safe during the coldest time of the year.

Step 3: Sanding
When the night falls and the snow freezes up, slipping can occur. To prevent incidents, we keep ice off your sidewalks and porches so that you don’t have to. Our team is well prepared for the blustery northeast winters, so sanding and salting for easy access is a must on our maintenance checklist.

Winter maintenance can be a pain, but don’t worry - all of this is done for you at Copper Square! And although we hope to start seeing more sunshine than snow this month, we are fully prepared for the next storm, or for those in the years to come.

Have you checked out Copper Square yet? We offer luxurious townhomes and duplexes, located in the heart of Bethel, CT - a growing community that offers New England charm and urban convenience! Hot Paint Color Trends for 2016

When the weather outside is dreary, it’s time to brighten up your home with a fresh coat of paint. Painting your walls is an easy way to stay up-to-date on the latest trends without spending all your dimes. Find out what’s trending for 2016:

Bold Contrast
Bright tones and contrast aren’t just for the summer months! In a room where you entertain often, choose chromatic brights and glossy surfaces that are playful, yet inviting. While dark colors create an illusion of depth, bright colors attract more light and give off the appearance of more space.

Blended Boundaries

For a more modern approach, blurring the boundaries from the top to the bottom of a wall is subtle yet right on point with this year’s paint trends. For example, coat the bottom half of your wall in orange, the top half in turquoise, and use a small brush to blend in the middle.

Geometric Patterns
Get creative with your paint selections through eye-catching patterns. Ask yourself: “Where do I want to attract most attention?” If that means you wish to add more width to a room, create a horizontal border around the top and bottom of your walls. For a stylish touch, trace a unique geometric pattern off to the side of a wall.

What to Look for In a Home

So you’ve started house hunting but you’re not sure how to know you found the right one. Finding the right home really boils down to knowing the difference between what you need vs. what you want. The key is balance, because let’s face it - sometimes needs weigh more heavily than desires when it comes to your future home. So whether you're looking for that first home or you're hoping to downsize, below are a few questions to help you answer the question: “Have I found the right home?”

Is it in an ideal neighborhood?
Home is where the heart is, but it’s also where you can be part of a community. Location is what people strive for most when searching for their future home. Whether you’re looking for urban convenience or proximity to schools, discovering a home in the perfect spot can make all the difference, even if it doesn’t meet all the other bullet points on your laundry list of needs.

Does it have a gourmet kitchen?
One of the biggest home values you can invest in is a beautiful and timeless kitchen. Look for some high end appliances, a fresh coat of paint, an open layout concept, and you have yourself a space no potential homebuyer will be able to resist - one that will last for many years to come.

Does it suites my basic needs?
Think about the bare necessities. How many bedrooms do you need? How long is your commute to work? Do you need an office space? This means to consider your must-haves and to start narrowing down your options. That way, you can find the one that fits without your lifestyle. Because sometimes what matters most are the simple features of a home that call your name.

Does it fit my budget?
Speaking of basic needs, does the home fit within your budget? If the price of a home offers more than you expected for an affordable cost, chances are it's an ideal fit. Don’t forget, just because you are qualified for a certain amount, doesn’t mean you should aim that high. But of course, this depends upon the features in the home and how much you’re willing to invest.

Your future home is waiting for your at Coppers Square! Come check out our luxurious, affordable townhomes and amenities. We are located in the heart of Bethel, CT - a growing community that offers a blend of urban convenience and New England charm. Our Models, Design Studio & Sales Center are now open.
